The nerf is that with lower hammer mastery, it knocks down for less time. It was mainly aimed at a certain assassin build that used backbreakers 4 second KD.
You could also argue it was buffed, at 19 hammer mastery it can cause 5 seconds of knockdown. |

12 normal attribute + 1 headpiece + 3 runes = 16. +1 Candy Corn +1 Golden Egg +1 Shrine Blessing =19 (or any other combination of attribute-boosting buffs).
A cool thing about attribute-boosting buffs is that, in utilizing these, the player can create a Flesh Golem that is above the game-wide level cap. Technically, monsters can only get up to level 33. This is shown when players attempting Legendary Defender of Ascalon death-level a Charr boss or monster. They don't get above 33. When a Necromancer player uses attribute boosters to get his Death Magic to 20 (twenty is the absolute attribute cap regardless of any modifiers), it makes a level 33 Flesh Golem. However, the staff or wand wrapping that grants +1 to the attribute, with a 20% chance, is exempt from this rule and can be added on, meaning there is a 20% chance that said Necromancer will create the Flesh Golem as if his Death Magic was 21, resulting at level 34. I believe a screenshot is in a discussion page on the official wiki. |

Correct me if im wrong, but knockdown is capped at 4 seconds.
i was under the impression that stonefist insignia has no effect on a 4 second backbreaker |

The stonefist insignia has a cap of 3 seconds on its knockdown time, which is why it doesn't affect Backbreaker. There is no actual limit on knockdown time.

savio-- i miss your old pic... you should change it back.
ontopic: yes, it was aimed to nerf a particular 'sin build (which tbh it really wasn't nerfed. it still works just fine). ~LeNa~

Players stop getting XP once they are 6 levels above the monsters level. Surely it works the same for monsters, and thus they shouldn't be able to go past lvl 26. Maybe Anet didn't see the need to implement the experience point drop for monsters.

Death magic is capped at 20, as are all attributes, regardless of buffs or blessings, etc.

^Depends. If only for Backbreaker, it's irrelevant. If you have other knockdowns like Hammer Bash, Stonefist still lengthens them.
